{The Meaning of Marriage by Timothy Keller}

After six months of this book making trips from my bookshelf, to the car, to my hambag, to my bedside table and back to my bookshelf I have finally started reading it and only wish I had started it ages ago. I can't put it down because it makes so much sense! Timothy Keller is not only teaching me about marriage - I'm learning about myself, about God and about life.

There is one thing I never thought I could bring myself to do, and that is highlight pages of a brand new novel but in this case, the things I'm reading deserve highlighting. I don't often make it to the end of a book but as I unite with page 170, I can see myself in it for the long haul. So far, this is definitely making it to this page.

Engagement Reading

Engaged life has given me reason and excitement to read. Who would have thought?

This and this book (both highly recommended!) have given me lots of 'ah-ha' moments. I thought I had a good idea of how a male works, but have now realised that I have so much more to learn - some things only life can teach me. I can't wait.

So far, I have not only learnt that respect can mean more to a man than anything else but also, when a male answers your question of "what are you thinking about?" with "nothing", they actually mean nothing - for a women, this can be so flipping frustrating because our brains don't work that way!

Our next book is this one, which was recommended by our newly-wed friends.

Mr J and I know that we can't prepare ourselves fully to what marriage will hold, however, we feel so blessed for the encouragement and support we have. With God walking with us, we are excited!

If you want more information on the books we are reading, feel free to contact me! On the other hand, if you have any advice, that is more than welcome too.

Love is a choice.

KCO 2013

What a wonderful weekend! Mr J and I joined a team of many lovely people, hundreds of children, church leaders, entertainers, caterers and a very enthusiastic, positive vibe as we attended KCO 2013.

KCO is a camp for children between 7 and 12 years of age. It is run by the Uniting Church of South Australia to encourage and assist kids to explore their faith through relationships with others, performances, activities, games and worship. God is great!

Mr J did what he knows best, shared his humour and energy as MC... and was wonderful! I co-ordinatored the merchandise stall to allow children to take home something physical to share with their families.

12 months until the next KCO.. already excited!
By then, Mr J and I will be married too!
Wow.

Tummy-filling Weekend

Mr J and I ventured here Friday night. A place where freshness comes in all shapes and sizes. We then walked around the city with no plans to eventually find Yvonne's Yiros Cafe at 9:00pm for dinner. No regrets.

Saturday night was lovely too. Mr J and I had a dinner date with D&B. Two inspirational people and great friends who we hadn't seen for six months, yet it felt like yesterday. We discovered, not only have Mr J and D's friendship been going strong for seventeen years but that they also share the same talent to tune every word and action out while watching the television. It must be a 'man thing'! D&B shared their marriage experiences with us as we shared our excitement for our big day. Amazing food, amazing company and a very fast three hours gone. I would go back here for a cherry ripe {dessert} pizza any day.

Today there was no dinner dates, however, there was church, relaxing and craft. After a wonderful, social and tummy-filling weekend I dusted off the sewing machine and made it a craft day. Productivity was formed when I finished the decorations for some celebrations approaching.

Weekend over and out.
