Please Say Please for a Cronut!

Please Say Please was the highlight of my day! I met with a wonderful friend, at this gorgeous cafe. We shared great conversation and I experienced my first tasting of a cronut. Whoever decided to combine a donut and croissant is genius! I'll never look back.

Date Night #2

Our last date night, I cooked. This time Mr J was the masterchef. Who says men can't cook? Mine certainly can! I was treated to lamb cutlets with rosat vegetables, followed by my favourite dessert, apple crumble and icecream. Mr J knows me well.

Scrum-dilly-umptious!

As we waited for each course to cook, we had quality time together asking each other questions that we sometimes forget to ask in our busy schedules. We told each other how we felt most loved during the previous week, we shared some stresses on our mind and most importantly shared how we could pray for each other in the week ahead. I have a keeper!

The Proposal

Here is My Love Story. This is the proposal.

Mr J and I had been together for almost three years when we began to talk seriously about engagement.  It was always in the plan but not always on our mind. As typical Teagan, I wanted to know exactly what Mr J was thinking in regards to popping the question. Where? When? How? ...but still wanted a surprise {I understand now, why I caused some frustration}. We prayed a lot, asked deep questions about our future, talked about rings and experienced some shopping at jewellers. It was now a matter of waiting for the right time to come.

It was summer holidays. I was working at a local apple packing shed with my best friend, Lauren P. I told her about Mr J and my possible future engagement and she was over the moon. The following weeks consisted of over-thinking accusations of when Mr J may pull out a ring.

On Saturday 22nd December, I worked in the shed on a 38 degrees day, starting early and finishing at 12pm. Hot and sweaty, I travelled down the hill to watch Mr J play baseball. It was a normal, hot, summer day for that time of year. As a result of an early morning and hot weather I slightly resembled the cookie monster - a little grouchy. Baseball finished and Mr J and I drove back to his house to swim in the pool. The engagement topic arose and due to my mood, poor Mr J copped the bad end of an over-tired Teagan. I snapped a few times. Jamie dispaeared from the pool to the loo but took a long time {For those that know any male - this is nothing out of the ordinary though}. In the meantime, I jumped out the pool and sat in the sun. Mr J arrived back and sat next to me. He put his arms around me and the following words turned me from the cookie monster to the happiest women alive.

"Teagan, you know that I love you... Will you marry me?"

He got down on one knee and held out the ring. In my heart and my head I wanted to yell a big, humongous yes but instead, I was speechless. All I could do was smile. My answer of silence was not helping Mr J's nerves though, so he asked me again and I said a verbal 'yes' this time.  The ring was a perfect fit and amazingly beautiful.

After the adrenaline had come down to normal level for both of us, Mr J informed he had picked the ring up and spoke to my Dad that same morning, while I was at work. What a big day!

Hours of phone calls and messages later, we sat down trying to believe that this wasn't one of those incredible dreams. I could not be happier. It was truly a Mr J proposal - spontaneous, relaxed and super exciting. Perfect.

This is not only a gorgeous ring, a relationship that has turned into engagement or the planning of a wedding. This is a commitment, and I wouldn't want to do it with anyone else.

I'm so madly, deeply and crazy in love with this handsome man...

The countdown in on until February the 1st, 2014.

Dinner Date with Friends

On Tuesday night, Mr J and I travelled two minutes down the road to spend dinner with our very special friends in their new home. It was wonderful to catch up on the past couple weeks, eat a delicious home cooked roast, followed by the best sticky date pudding I've ever had (defintley was worth eating seconds) and we laughed as we travelled through the game of life. Enjoyable would not explain the night enough. However, one of the biggest chuckles goes to the boys in the kitchen. They felt an urge to add to their experience of cooking, by bringing out the umbrella. I have as many questions as you, but it was funny!

Cheers to great friends, laughs and dinner dates!
Feeling very blessed.

Crafting and Making Art

God provided us with glorious rain and cold temperatures outside today. He doesn't do anything by halves, especialy today - I think the clouds are ringed dry. Although I think this weather is beautiful, I was thankful to the person who created the heater.

What a super day to be inside crafting and making art.

Wholemeal Strawberry Pancakes

This morning I had a craving. A craving for pancakes!
I cured that craving by making these yummy things.

Ingredients
1.5 Cup of milk
1 Egg
2 Tsp of Vanilla Extract
2 Cups of Wholemeal SR Flour
1/4 Tsp of Bi-Carb Soda
1/3 Cup of Caster Sugar
1 Punnet of Strawberries, chopped
Butter

Method
1. Whisk together the milk, egg and vanilla
2. Combine the flour, soda and sugar in a bowl
3. Gradually add the milk mixture with to the flour mixture
4. Mix in the strawberries
5. Place a small amount of butter into a fry pan
6. Pour some mixture into the pan, flip when bubbles start to appear in the pancake
7. Repeat until all of the mixture is gone

I served mine with maple syrup.
Perfect for breakfast, lunch or tea!
Enjoy.

Date Night

Mr J and I found a night in which we were both doing nothing this week. At the moment that is as rare as an emu in the city. So, why not make the most of it? I pulled out the candles, put on my cooking apron and planned the night.

As Jamie walked in the door, I had entree on the table.

Mains was inspired by a memorable meal from when we travelled here. Clam chowder.

And dessert was a minor fail but still tasted yummy. Chocolate fondant turned into cupcake.

We finished the night with some tickles and laughs.
Every couple needs a date night!

Happy weekends.

A New Friend

I'm truly thankful for new friends! During Lutheran College this semester I met a lovely women of God, who I was privileged to share brunch with yesterday. We experienced some delicious banana bread at this cute cafe over wonderful conversation. By 12 o'clock, my day was already made. I can't wait for next time.

Another day with Family

A couple weeks ago my family spent the day at my adobe. This time, I trekked up through the snake-like roads to my hometown.

Dad picked me up at ten o'clock. We were on the road for five minutes before spontaneously stopping at Newman's Nursery. We shared our walking and talking with the sunshine and a hot drink. It was lovely.

We met mum at my childhood home, talked some more and decided to go out for lunch. We ate at this beautiful cafe. The atmosphere, boutique gifts and home-style food gave me a dream to open up my own cafe. One can only dream.

After a visit to the antique store up the road, we spent a relaxing afternoon at home, followed by steak and home-fried chips {dad's specialty} for dinner.

Another wonderful day with family. They mean more to me than my heat bag on a cold day.

My Best Friends World

Yesterday I visited my best friend at her university. Although it took me an extra thirty-five minutes to arrive at the destination due to my lack of direction, I had a wonderful greeting from Loz P followed by a tour of the farm. I had the best tour guide ever! I saw the cattle being fed, horses playing chasey, sheep in their yards, alpacas from a distance and had a lovely conversation with a farmer. The night finished off with an episode of Offspring and a delicious meal. It was awesome seeing my best friend doing what she does best.

Birthdays Make All Things Good

Over the past two weeks, I've put my learning glasses back on and re-entered the world of university. Although my assignments are already reaching their due date next week, I'm enjoying studying food and society, as well as design and technology. I think home economics and design will be my thing!

I'm super thankful for the birthdays that we have recently celebrated. Just as I begin to feel a little overwhelmed of too much study, I get the opportunity to eat cake! Happy Birthday to Mr J's mum and my cousin Jaxon!

Mr J's mum used her incredible skill to make herself this amazing cake!
I'm not sure if it was a good idea to insist I bake her birthday cake next year... expectations may be a tad high!

Lego, toys, cake and chocolate all in one! Every boys dream cake and tasted good enough for seconds and thirds!

I hope you have all been having a awesome August so far.
