Didn't expect this

What an event filled day!
It was one of those day that God springs on you out of no where.

Woke up before the sun.
Worked an early shift.
Made a hundred pieces of toast, cereal and cold milo's
Arrive home for breakfast.
Put my study boots on in preparation of writing 4,500 words in 32 hours.
Walk out the door and lock it behind me.
Realise my keys are still on the kitchen bench.
I stare at them through the window, hoping they could walk out on their own. No luck.
No money or credit for a bus ride.
Mr J got a wake up call on his one day off.
I have our car in my driveway.
Mr J rides the twenty minutes up hill to rescue me on his bike.
Hello keys!
Three hours of study and a taste of lunch.
Drive Mr J to a meeting.
Begin my drive to uni.
Look down at the heat-o-meter in the red zone.
Steer the car off the road and stop.
Lift the bonnet. Sizzling and steaming.
Ring Dad. Receive great advice.
Message Mr J in his meeting.
Mr J arrives in shining armour once again, thanks to some lovely friends!
Ring RAA.
Study in the car.
RAA arrive.
Need a tow.
Played hangman in the car.
Tow Truck arrives.
Ring Mr J's housemate to pick up us from the mechanics.
Mr J's housemate arrives.
Studied for two hours.
Ate chilli con carne for dinner.
Consumed my first coffee {vanilla flavoured} and enjoyed it.
Consumed a peppermint tea.
Studied some more.
Bed time.

How was your Thursday?

My Best Friends World

Yesterday I visited my best friend at her university. Although it took me an extra thirty-five minutes to arrive at the destination due to my lack of direction, I had a wonderful greeting from Loz P followed by a tour of the farm. I had the best tour guide ever! I saw the cattle being fed, horses playing chasey, sheep in their yards, alpacas from a distance and had a lovely conversation with a farmer. The night finished off with an episode of Offspring and a delicious meal. It was awesome seeing my best friend doing what she does best.

Birthdays Make All Things Good

Over the past two weeks, I've put my learning glasses back on and re-entered the world of university. Although my assignments are already reaching their due date next week, I'm enjoying studying food and society, as well as design and technology. I think home economics and design will be my thing!

I'm super thankful for the birthdays that we have recently celebrated. Just as I begin to feel a little overwhelmed of too much study, I get the opportunity to eat cake! Happy Birthday to Mr J's mum and my cousin Jaxon!

Mr J's mum used her incredible skill to make herself this amazing cake!
I'm not sure if it was a good idea to insist I bake her birthday cake next year... expectations may be a tad high!

Lego, toys, cake and chocolate all in one! Every boys dream cake and tasted good enough for seconds and thirds!

I hope you have all been having a awesome August so far.

He is Amazing

"He will come to us like rain." Hosea 6:3

As I lay in bed, feeling extremely relaxed and hearing the rain drops on my roof, I found that verse from Hosea.

God has spoken to me in so many ways over the past week which has left me feeling rejuvenated and more alive than before. The last two days I have been at Lutheran College learning about sacraments, relationships and the world. I met a wonderful friend who introduced me to Beth Moore - an inspiring women from Texas who lives for God in every way possible. She has many bible studies I would love to attempt, however, in the meantime I came across this clip, which has encouraged me to see God's word in a different light. It is no longer scary, overwhelming or boring. It is encouraging and communicative.

Thankyou Lord

A week of placement

My first placement in a hills primary school has let me confidently say, I want to be a teacher! For the past four days I was placed in a grade one class, which I adored. Swimming week was a bonus. The children were fantastic, the teacher was lovely and the experience was the best. I assisted children with their writing and playing. They made me feel like a celebrity and I was sad to leave. One whole year until my next placement now, until then I will have to put up with a few more essays.

Bring on the ABC, 123 and tieing of shoelaces!

Placement Number One

After feeling a little anxious about my first ever uni placement, I came out of it with more skills in sandpit playing, fingerprint artistry, collage making and picture book reading. Being a pre-service teacher has been taken to a whole new level! Bring on every Thursday for the next six weeks where I'm welcomed to a different perspective of primary school.

To all of the current and past teachers out there...you are one big ball of inspiration!

Counting My Blessings

I'm thankful for supportive family and friends who make me feel loved every single day.

I'm thankful for early mornings to acknowledge the ANZAC's on the twenty-fifth of April. The public holiday is a spanking-good bonus.

I'm thankful for a man who I can call my future-husband. He is one of a kind - the one that makes me laugh and cry all at the same time.

I'm thankful for the best hairdresser ever - my mum. I haven't had my hair this short since I was five years of age. Welcome back softness and bounce, good bye dead ends. Change is good.

I'm thankful for oversized clothes and big scarfes that make you feel comfy, even on fat days!

I'm thankful for colourful pens that brighten the darkest study days.

I'm thankful for pay days. They make my bank balance look so much more healthier than the day before.

God is greater than mudcake and ice-cream. He is my cherry on top!!

What are some of your blessings?

Thankfulness

I'm thankful for a Friday at home to finish my first seventeen-hundred word essay since 2010.

I'm thankful for Mr J, especially for writing me 'just becasue' letters, taking me on picnics and bravely undergoing tickle fights close to midnight.

I'm thankful for a family who listen to my wedding and planning talk.

I'm thankful for a regular income, although it's unexciting, it keeps our budget realistic.

I'm thankful for some cooler weather to reunite my quilt and I

Bring on the weekend!

Productivity

I was thankful to have a day off of work today. Not only did I get a sleep in, I got things done! The morning consisted of smiles and happy tears as I read Mr J and my engagement cards. Extremely blessed! I ate my eggs in front of season one, episode one of this {a new gift my Mr J}. And finished the day with a good amount of study conquered, two cups of tea and the love for this cooler weather. Back to work tomorrow.

A different kind of week.

This week has been big! Mr J and I made the transformation to Apple Mac's, I attended my Lutheran College Intenisve week, became a bus catcher pro, received a beautiful bunch of 'just because' flowers from my wonderful fiancé, had my daily lunch in the sun, enjoyed the comfort of marion gold class cinemas and demolished the left over slices from this. It sounds quite luxurious but I've run out of steam. So tired, but super blessed! Tonight, we say 'hello pancake kitchen', next week I say 'hello work' and then it's 'hello uni!' Happy Friday.
